About the Founder

The founder of Zb International is a mechanical engineer and business strategist with over a decade of experience at the intersection of engineering design, commercial management, and project leadership in the global energy, power, and process industries. This career journey is marked by a blend of technical innovation, business acumen, and a consistent drive to push the boundaries of what engineering solutions can achieve.

Early Career: Foundations in Design & Engineering

The career began in a process manufacturing firm, with a focus on the detailed design of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and storage tanks. Work spanned thermal and mechanical design, finite element analysis (FEA), 3D modelling, general arrangement drawings, and fabrication detailing. Beyond core engineering, responsibilities extended into procurement, issuing technical purchase orders to vendors, conducting techno-commercial bid evaluations, and handling vendor clarifications. Contributions were also made in project scheduling and control, connecting design efforts with execution realities.

During this period, ASNT Level II certification in piping and welding inspection was achieved, strengthening quality assurance credentials. Early contributions were also made in business development and costing, laying the foundation for future commercial leadership.

Breakthrough: Cryogenic Tank Development & Industry Firsts

A career breakthrough came with the responsibility to develop cryogenic pressure vessel construction methodology, design, and supply chain, with the goal of securing international approvals. Leading the design and manufacturing teams alongside senior quality and business development directors, this initiative resulted in the delivery of the employer’s first cryogenic tank to achieve TÜV Nord approval, designed with advanced methodologies that delivered a 64.3% improvement in performance efficiency compared to typical industry standards in Thailand.

Beyond meeting regulatory compliance, in-house experiments were conducted to optimize cryogenic fluid filling methods, with the founder actively leading knowledge transfer sessions to educate the team on cryogenic concepts and standard practices.

Contributions also extended into business development, helping secure two multi-million-dollar projects. End-to-end responsibilities included RFQs, price development, technical clarifications, commercial and contractual negotiations, budgeting, and acting as a project advisor to ensure successful execution and cost control. These projects showcased adaptability:

  • A traditional tank farm project for a leading petroleum company in Thailand, in collaboration with a Chinese EPC.
  • An innovative floating energy storage system, designed for barge-based deployment to store surplus power — a forward-looking solution for space-constrained regions such as islands.

Additional support was provided for R&D initiatives, such as a marine growth cleaning device, and participation in commercial bidding activities for wind farm, offshore, and subsea projects.

Innovation & R&D: High-Pressure Hydrogen Storage

This track record led to an internal promotion to a sister company, with a primary focus on business development and innovative R&D projects. One of the most notable achievements was leading the team in the development of Type IV composite tanks for high-pressure hydrogen storage in automotive applications.

Working in collaboration with a renowned German car manufacturer in Thailand, and with a leading Thai university as technical consultants, the team combined 3D modeling and FEA expertise with advanced design tools like SpaceClaim and Ansys to tackle the complex geometry of composite tanks. The project culminated in patent applications in Thailand, while also establishing a new supply chain ecosystem for composite tank manufacturing — a first-of-its-kind initiative in the region.

Expanding Horizons: EPC & Power Plant Projects

The career path then expanded into the EPC world, focusing on modern gas turbine power plant projects. Contributions included:

  • Engineering calculations and design reviews (ASME Sec VIII Div 1 & 2, UL-142, API, EN codes).
  • RFQ management and pricing for critical equipment packages.
  • Techno-commercial clarifications and negotiations with clients and suppliers.
  • Supply chain development, leveraging international networks.
  • Procedure development and third-party verification to ensure compliance with global standards.

Commercial acumen grew significantly during this phase, with deep involvement in client account management, cost control, and supplier qualification for major international clients.
